Northwest Indiana Sports Charities exits to keep youth sports accessible in communities where funding is tight and rosters are shrinking. We support leagues, schools, and community programs so kids can experience the benefits of sports-teamwork, discipline, and confidence no matter their family's income.

Why We Started NWI Sports Charities
Youth sports participation across Northwest Indiana has declined sharply as program costs soar and families struggle to afford uniforms, league fees, and equipment. We saw talented kids sitting on the sidelines not because they lacked ability or passion, but because cost had become a barrier. That's why Don Popravak founded Northwest Indiana Sports Charities in Whiting to ensure every child in our community gets a fair shot at playing, learning, and belonging through sports.

Don founded Northwest Indiana Sports Charities after witnessing too many local kids sit on the sidelines due to cost. His 25 years in regional youth sports gives him deep insight into the barriers families face.
